Jack-in-the-green in Sighted in Germany?

As any more than casual Jethro Tull fan knows, 2008 marks the band's 40th anniversary. While this is a reason for celebration of itself, Ian's New Years remarks alluded to the release of a new Jethro Tull DVD. Fans have waited for news of the release of the DVD but no more news ever came from the primary source (discussion about the lack of updates through the Official Website may be discussed in a later post). But now the wait is over! According to http://www.tullpress.com/ the release dates for the DVD have been announced. And much to my surprise, two DVDs are being released.

The first is Jack In The Green: Live in Germany. Amazon.com confirms the release of this DVD on May 20th by Eagle Rock Ent. List price for this DVD is $12.99. If the DVD is of the same quality as Montreux (the last Tull DVD released by Eagle Rock) fan's won't be disappointed.

The second DVD is the much awaited Jethro Tull - Their Fully Authorised Story. This DVD is not yet listed on the US amazon.com but is listed on the UK site with a release date of June 2nd by Pinnacle Vision. This is bound to be the DVD for Tull fans! The DVD is two discs and is 200 minutes long. The list price on the UK site is £18.74.

I plan on enjoying a summer of Tull this year. Two new DVDs (and hopefully an new album in the near future) will be wonderful complements to my pair of tickets to see Tull at Red Rocks in August.
