A Moment of Silence for Oct 12th,1979
On October 12th 1979, Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull was injured when a fan threw a rose on stage and a thorn pierced his eye. The band was forced to cancel two shows.

I was at that show and know the person who threw the rose.We have given him crap about it ever since that night. Haven't seen him for years and I just bumped into him a few weeks back with my 13 yr old son who didn't believe my story. Lo and behold I googled it and here it is. U.K opened for Tull that night. U.K. was awesome. Highly dissapointed the show ended on such a bad note. Tull still rocks and my son is just starting to learn some of the licks on his guitar.
